At least that’s what I fantasize happening when these two lovely performers-Lady Scoutington from December’s Holiday Spectacular and Rebecca Nagle from the upcoming February Lovefest-meet.
Lady Scoutington (aka Scout Durwood) is hard at work on stand-up and developing a solo show that is set to debut at Edinburgh Fringe Fest. Do I even have to say how impressive that is?
Side note: The Giddy Multitude will be presenting an Extended Play Version as part of WOW Cafe Theatre’s 30th Anniversary Festival in May, and an excerpt from this sure to be fantastic show will be presented. That’s right, it’s a state side Giddy exclusive. Stay tuned for dates.
She’s in a self described “online thing” that you can vote for! Click on this, go, do it now. http://www.like2laugh.com/comics/comedian.php?ent=Scout%20Durwood
If she makes it past that, then she gets to compete live at Comix. I know, I know. Very exciting. She’s also working out negotiations with Comix for a monthly stand-up/Burlesque show called “Something Awesome! Nothing Boring!” set to debut in March.
Sometimes, with performers as talented and prolific as we are lucky to have, you have to be careful what you wish for. Rebecca Nagle is coming all the way from Baltimore to perform with us, and I am so excited I’m quivering. And considering her jam packed schedule, I’m also honored. If you happen to be in Baltimore, check her out in the following shows:
I just finished a 15 city tour of my one woman show, A Dozen Things I want to do on stage. The performance combines 1920′s political European cabaret with 1970′s feminist performance art to make an interactive variety show about sexuality, gender, power an desire. Tour was amazing! It is inspiring that cities across the nation are hungry for critical performance art!
